From small beginnings eighteen years ago, Venture has grown to a company some 60 strong - small enough that an individual can make real impact and large enough to be surrounded by real experience to learn from.
Over the years, Venture has followed a policy of recruiting new graduates. Indeed the founding members of the company, including our MD were not long out of University when they created the company.
Venture is looking for graduates who have either a geoscience, computer science, engineering or information management degree and a strong interest in applying their knowledge into our work in the Information Management sector. If you are highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and are flexible on the locations you work at, then you will be a valuable addition to our company.
Jim Evans-Jones joined Venture in April 2005 as a Graduate Junior Consultant. He spent his first couple of months working on an office move for one of our clients Petro-Canada which involved indexing data and mapping out their new office layout, the end result being a smooth move. Jim continued for a further six months working for our client Petro-Canada, undertaking records management work within their new office alongside experienced Venture colleagues.
This work helped him to understand record life-cycles and to be able to produce best practice documentation and workflows. When this work was completed Jim returned to Venture HQ for a period of time and worked on short term projects for various clients, for example he expanded on his knowledge of record life-cycle workflows and also spent time researching alternate geophysical interpretation packages.
In April 2006, Jim earned promotion to Junior Consultant status and moved on to work as a Data Management Coordinator for our client BP. Working alongside another experienced Venture colleague this role required him to expand on his knowledge of geoscience applications, GIS software and data management practices.
Whilst working at BP, Jim demonstrated a flair for building client relationships and his energy and commitment was reflected in his excellent client feedback. In July 2007 Jim was promoted again to Consultant level. This promotion meant increased responsibility for Jim within his day to day data management operational role. This role will continue to enable Jim to rapidly build on his skill base by gaining experience of using and supporting a wider range of geoscience applications within a client environment.
In all that we do, we try to be flexible and to encourage individual and team performance. Our benefits package reflects this. In addition to a competitive salary we offer a performance bonus scheme, flexible benefits and 25 days annual holiday. Aside from the material benefits, Venture offers a challenging yet supportive environment that will stretch your personal development.
If you are a Graduate and interested in working at Venture Information Management, please complete our online recruitment form and we will happily consider your application.
