Following on from an IM review carried out by Venture our client requested that we instigate a project to coach and mentor their IM support team in order to assist with the development of both a DM and IM strategy and implementation roadmap.
Background
Over the last few years our client had undergone a major change in the structure and personnel within their IM support team. In order to assist the team members with the accompanying change management process a series of workshops were developed to assist them in developing a roadmap of projects that would allow them to work to their fully potential.
The workshops included:
- Identification of the team goals, the reality and the available options
- Initial development of an IM Roadmap
- Initial development of a DM Roadmap
- Bringing together the IM and DM roadmaps
- 1-2-1 sessions with individuals as required
Outcome
The project achieved its objectives and provided:
- A roadmap of tactical and strategic initiatives that would improve IM and DM services
- A record of all workshops and meetings
- A support team that had a clear idea of the future state of the department and how they would get there
- Recommendation of a preferred way forward embodied in a programme of projects
- Enhance the client's decision making and asset management effectiveness by being able to harness information about its assets more readily
- Improve the value obtained from investment in IT systems
