As technology develops and changes, and as company's information assets grow and evolve, content often needs to be consolidated and migrated between repositories. With many company's legacy information asset stretching back decades, and in today's complex information systems environments, the potential effort and cost of a large content migration can be prohibitive.
Venture has developed a powerful in-house toolkit to work with file shares and various document management systems.
This tool, V-FILES, can be used to scan existing file shares or document management systems, analyse structures and content for duplication and trends, and also manipulate and migrate content, including security and metadata, to other systems or file shares.
This toolkit can be tailored by the Venture technical team for bespoke needs, where required, both in terms of the core functionality or its reporting capabilities.
Venture consultants have used these tools, and the simple reports that they produce, to work alongside business units to facilitate complex and large scale content migrations significantly reducing the time, cost and effort required. The tools also help design new structures to align with new visions for information structures, and then cleanse, de-duplicate and migrate existing content before migrating it to the new stores.
