Historically, drilling data has not been a high priority for many operators, frequently being regarded as the province of the numerous contactors who perform and support drilling operations. More recently, the availability of comprehensive, commercial drilling data stores (and data-transfer protocols) has created the opportunity for operators to take ownership and control of their data.
Good management of this information, throughout the well's life, provides a basis for efficiency gains that can materially improve drilling schedules, costs and risk. Similarly, ensuring that the policies, standards and procedures that underpin drilling activities are readily available to all parties involved, unambiguous and enforceable produces substantial improvements.
We’ve been working with Petro-Canada since 2002, projects have included IM strategy to more recently the development of drilling applications to manage information flow across its International operations.
