General Support Duties

  • To provide pro-active support duties to the Asset and Exploration group
  • Handle the capture, QC and upload of well data to corporate systems
  • Provide data loading and data management of seismic, well and map data
  • Provide back-fill support to the technical teams when the Geo-Systems and Data Coordinator is absent
  • Work to demanding project deadlines and milestones
  • Strong familiarity with drilling and well site operations and the processes for capturing and storing operational data in to corporate stores
  • Monitoring real time data capture and making this available to subsurface interpreters.

 

DM Systems & Applications Support

  • Assist in hardware maintenance for Linux/Unix server and client workstations
  • Assist in the installation of software upgrades and patches for Linux Red Hat OS and the G&G application portfolios
  • Assist in G&G user software support and project/database quality improvement
  • Support users in maximising the use of our technology portfolio (e.g. Geoframe, SMT, Recall and Petrosys)
  • Monitor the capture of real time LWD/MWD data from well site to G&G applications
  • Provide support for real time data capture and storage.

 

Data Management

  • Aid the technical teams in Map Management
  • Assist in the setup and support of Asset Data Rooms
  • Assist in the transmittal of data to partners and government
  • Register incoming data
  • Assist in the integration of well and seismic data with ArcGIS
  • Work at a detailed level to populate corporate databases such as Recall, Geoframe and ArcSDE
  • Transfer/load data from corporate repositories to project based interpretation systems
  • Reporting on the quality of data in the asset and providing metrics for management reporting.

 

Relevant Experience

  • Proven ability to work with various data types and to manipulate complex data sets for various applications and databases
  • Awareness, knowledge and proven hands-on experience working with a range of E&P data types including seismic, well and GIS data, particularly from a well operations perspective
  • Proven experience with data management workflows
  • UNIX/Linux experience or tangible evidence in the use of E&P applications and databases and the loading of various data types.
