Information Management Consultants in Upstream Oil and Gas

Working for Venture's upstream clients in various roles, both short and long-term, to provide consultancy advice, implement changes through discrete projects and/or provide ongoing information management services.

 

Person / Experience Required

We are continuously looking for professionals from across the spectrum of experience - consultants, senior consultants and principal consultants. Suitable candidates will be highly client-facing and have a track record in the specified areas.

Successful candidates will have worked in Information Management or Information Systems roles in the upstream oil and gas sector, with, proven experience in at least one of the following disciplines, and at least a working knowledge of some of the others

• Facilities Engineering
• Maintenance
• Drilling and Completions
• Production Operations
• Geology
• Geophysics
• Petrophysics
• Reservoir Engineering

They will have experience providing Information Management and/or Information Systems services and implementation/business process consultancy across the above areas.

More than anything, the successful candidate will have a passion for assisting clients' performance improvements through better management of business information in the E&P environment.

 

Qualifications

• A Suitable degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. Geosciences or Engineering) or equivalent industry experience.

 

Key Skills Required

• Client-facing consultancy and/or delivery across a range of levels/abilities
• Background in Information Management, Systems or Consultancy
• Substantial experience of technical disciplines within the upstream oil and gas sector
• Well-developed customer relationship skills
• Ability to participate in mixed teams
• Ability to lead mixed teams (for senior roles) 
• Ability to formulate both specific client proposals and generic new business propositions.

 

Location

The posts will be based mainly in either the South East or Aberdeen, with some possibilities to travel or work overseas with clients. Clients and assignments will vary from time to time (requiring some flexibility in location etc.).
