Principal Consultant - Subsurface Data Management

To deliver profitable revenue through execution and leadership of consulting engagements, including pre-sales support for acquisition of consulting business. As directed by the Head of Practice, develop the organisation's capabilities by providing leadership and direction within and around consulting operations.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable and extensive experience (within a Subsurface Data Management capacity) of performing, managing and leading consultancy assignments within the Practice. They will utilise their own domain knowledge and Company wide expertise, providing mentoring to colleagues to support delivery of highly profitable, quality assured assignments.

 

Person / Experience Required

Previous demonstrable experience in the following is required:

  • Profitable delivery of consultancy engagements according to client requirements.
    • Quality Assurance of delivered services
    • Identification of further business opportunituies within existing clients (including liaison with appropriate members of the sales team)
    • Managing expectations and relationships of clients and business partners.
  • Supporting the creation and maintenance of a ‘Quality' organisation leading to culture of excellence
  • Significant contribution to achievement of company growth and strategic goals
  • Principal Consultancy 
    • Being seen as an expert within subsurface Data Management
    • Presenting internally and to external clients and subject matter experts
    • Maintaining a high utilization rate within the appropriate knowledge domain.
  • Operations Management
    • Carrying out project assurance
    • Ownership of Service Delivery issues
    • Assistance in the production of sales proposals and ITT's
    • Assist in scheduling and consultant deployment alongside the Practice Head
    • Ensure proper internal procedure is followed by all Practise Staff at all times (e.g. timesheets, Health and Safety etc.)
  • Financial Management 
    • Ensure Operating Targets are met on all assignments
    • Carry out cost controls and P&L adherence
    • Provide forecast information on self and Practice consultant activity.

 

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Geosciences or equivalent industry experience in subsurface Data Management
  • Project Management qualifications in an internal or standardised framework would be beneficial.

 

Key Skills Required

  • High level client/customer facing skills with an emphasis on delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Strong organizational skills at both the personal and strategic level.
  • Excellent communication, both interpersonal and in presentation.
  • People management of small teams (experience in management of offsite consultants is beneficial)
  • Technical domain knowledge of Subsurface Data Management is essential.
