British Petroleum
Since 1990, Venture has delivered a wide range of Information Management solutions to BP’s upstream business.
These solutions have spanned all of our four practice areas: we’ve provided Advisory Services such as Information Management assessments and the development of Information Management roadmaps; federal and business-unit specific Data Management services; our Information Integration Solutions practice has delivered bespoke tools to help BP’s business units manage their processes more effectively; and our Enterprise Information Management (EIM) practice has implemented, for example, record retention schedules and file plans.

Petro-Canada
Venture began its relationship with Petro-Canada following the company’s acquisition of Veba Oil & Gas in May 2002 – a client of ours since the late 1990’s.
We deliver technical data management services on an on-going basis to Petro-Canada including data loading and data management as well as support for its G&G technical applications.
Over the years, we have been engaged for a number of high profile projects: advising on the development and implementation of its information management strategy and the implementation of an Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) based on Documentum.
Our most recent project for Petro-Canada is the integration and development of bespoke drilling applications that will help manage information flow across the company’s International operations.

Nexen Venture has an extensive history of successful delivery of information management solutions to Nexen.
As information management specialists we have assisted the company to develop roadmaps for improved geotechnical data management and for their documents and records management requirements. We have worked with their subsurface data management and business unit leaders to design and implement an EDM (Electronic Document Management) master data management system. In alignment with the company’s strategy for electronic information, we have undertaken feasibility studies for the amalgamation and migration of their physical indexes.
Venture has played a key role in the development of Nexen’s EDM strategy and the deployment of the company’s corporate EDM system. We continue to provide programme design and management services to Nexen and our consultants are actively working on various other deployments to their UK and North Western European business units.
