Improving Collaboration with Livelink

Our client uses Livelink as their document management platform and were seeking to improve online collaboration through the use of electronic forms and workflows. Work has been undertaken with the HR and Finance departments to automate a range of paper-based workflows and processes. Relevant forms are now available and accessible online for electronic completion, submission and approval.


To understand and capture business requirements a number of workshops were held with HR and Finance stakeholders. Utilising Venture's experience in Information Management, Business Analysis and ECM workflow development we were able to advise on the best solutions to improve online business collaboration and meet the specified requirements.

Venture then defined, developed, tested and documented new electronic workflows, including associated reporting to allow all users (whether initiators, approvers, managers, budget holders etc.) to track work progress.

Additionally, Venture created customised Forms with the necessary functionality to ensure capture of the correct information and improve the end user experience at each stage of the workflow.

Test scripts set up for the business stakeholders were submitted for extensive internal review before approval to ensure conformance with relevant data protection regulations.
In addition, Venture generated associated training material and delivered training sessions to key users across the business functions.


Our client now has:

  • Improved identification and management of bottlenecks through better user visibility and accessibility of correct work and request forms, with online traceability of progress
  • Better enforcement of standardised business workflow processes, ensuring consistency in approach and outcome
